I was raised in Newark CA, a suburb of San Francisco. My father, brother and I fished for cod in the Pacific, catfish in the delta, sturgeon and striped bass in the bay, salmon in the Sacramento river, and hunted ducks and pheasants throughout the central valley and Northen California.
Deer and turkey had to wait until a series of unplanned events landed me in Missouri after I left the Army. I am very happy for the life I found here. Though my dad has passed, before then I was able to coax him out of California for a Fall Missouri turkey hunt, and he took a nice fat hen.
In recent years Jane and I bought a farm near Moberly on which we hunt deer and turkey, raise grassfed Scottish Highland Cattle, and grow hay and soybeans.
